The Team
Sassy Superstar Designs comes to life from a mother/daughter team, Vikki and Julie Thompson, who bring their individual expertise to each design.
Julie, has been working as a costumer in the film and television industry for the past 15 years. She has worked on numerous films, commercials and television series during her years in the business including an Emmy win for her work on ABC’s “Pushing Daisies.” Julie began dancing competitively at the age of three and danced into her high school years. Over her many years as a dancer, Julie wore many different dance costumes and can truly relate to a customer’s needs in the construction of a costume. Julie is elated to be able to marry her knowledge of costumes and love of dance to form Sassy Superstar Designs.
Vikki, the woman behind the sewing machine, has over 50 years of sewing experience and has made thousands of costumes over the years. She first began sewing dance costumes for her daughters’ dance classes. When Vikki’s granddaughter began dancing competitively, her sewing skills were once again in high demand and she was asked to sew dance costumes again. After her retirement from the corporate world, Vikki was excited to combine her sewing skill with Julie’s creativity and years of experience as a costumer to form Sassy Superstar Designs.
